Welcome to our Blog!
As a group, we will be analyzing four specific nouns that relate to the workplace: success, failure, happiness and greed. Each of us will study one of these words specifically in our individual essays. We will discuss how others define these words within the workplace and the ways it affects productivity at work. We will also share our own view and definition of the word we research, even using our own experiences in the workplace to share this point. We plan to tie this in with how each noun can positively or negatively affect emotional stability in individuals. Jacob will be studying failure, Tania will be studying happiness, Christian will be analyzing greed, and Cassandra will be looking into success.

Jacob will be analyzing the definition of failure. He will study the two main sides of this argument. One side believes failure is a negative and although you can learn from it, you should also find solutions to avoid it because the best results come when you limit errors and mistakes. He will also be explaining why psychologically we tend to view failure in a bad way. On the other hand, he will be discussing the side of why failure isn't the worst thing in the world and can actually bring better results, productivity and innovation. He will show this by giving famous examples and from interviews with various managers and entrepreneurs in the market. Then Jacob will share his thoughts on what he believes failure is.

Christian will be looking into greed and how it can be good and bad. In this section greed be seen as whether it be good or bad as creating emotional instability within people and ultimately causing such people to behave unethically. Christian will provide insight on greed behavior along with various examples from many sources such as the Greek thinkers Plato and Aristotle to support his finding. He will continue to describe how the wealthier a person become the more likely they are to be greedier and be involved promote unethical behavior. What Christian ends up finding in his research is that good and bad greed both come at the expense of a persons ethics.
We all want to be successful at work.  But how do we know what is considered success to begin with?  Or even how to maintain that success?  Success is a personal goal we set for ourselves in order to develop through the working environment.  We are constantly evolving not only ourselves, but our work as well, and we have to ensure that that is expressed in what we output.  We need to instill that we are a valuable asset to our companies, therefore should be providing our best quality of work that we’re capable of in order to display our efforts.
And lastly, Tania will be researching and discussing the topic and definition of success in the workplace. What does it look like? Is it really all about making a lot of money and having things? Tania will use real life examples and examples from the various novels we've read in class to portray what society has to say about success and how Tania defines it herself.
Our goal as a group is to inform you all and teach you something new about these various words that we researched. We hope you enjoy our blog and find something interesting you didn't know before!
